Beppe d’Andrea began his love and multifaceted career in the wine industry in 1981 as cellar master at a variety of Italian wineries. With a passion for the rich Italian winemaking tradition, Beppe became a force of the Italian culinary world when he was appointed head of the Slow Food movement for the Chianti Classico region. In this role, he organized culinary and wine events for consumers and wine producers throughout Tuscany. Thanks to his vast knowledge of wines and food pairings, Beppe obtained the AIF Professional Sommelier certification, opening the door to consultation on wine lists for many prestigious Italian restaurants.  


It was in 1987 when Beppe found himself drawn to the iconic Ruffino winery, where he remains today. His admiration for the winery derives from the fact that “Ruffino has and will always be an innovative winery. It has made its mark in Tuscan wine history, and continues to innovate with a deep respect for the tradition of the land,” he says. Beppe began his career at Ruffino working in the vineyards cultivating the land and soon thereafter joined Ruffino’s winemaking team. There he mastered the art of crafting the Ruffino white wines and Ruffino’s hallmark Chianti Classico. Over several years in the cellar, he earned the title of cellar master.


After shepherding the production of Ruffino wines from birth to consumption, today Beppe enjoys his role as Senior Brand Ambassador for Ruffino both in Italy and abroad.  In this capacity, he oversees educational and hospitality visits to the winery, and shares the Ruffino heritage with wine professionals, trade and consumers throughout the world.
